Maksim Chmerkovskiy Escapes To Poland

Dancing with the Stars” alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy revealed on Tuesday that the train he’s traveling on has made it to Poland after fleeing his native country Ukraine.  He posted to his Instagram Story on Tuesday morning, writing, “I’m in Poland.”  In a second post, he revealed that he hasn’t slept in 31 hours. While he’s crossed the border into Poland by train, the 42-year-old said he was still one and a half hours away from his destination.  His update follows several others he’s shared with fans via social media since first revealing last week that he was in Kyiv when the Russia invasion began.  He revealed to his 1.1 million Instagram followers on Monday that he was “all good” after being arrested in Ukraine.  He also shared that he made it onto a train heading to Warsaw, Poland.  According to Chmerkovskiy, a train to Lviv was not possible for him.  “The situation at the train station is insane. At first it feels manageable, but it gets A LOT worse when it comes time to actually board the train. Long story but all I can say now is that I’m a big man with nothing but a backpack it’s TRAUMATIZING,” he said.  Chmerkovskiy described the capacity of the train “wagon” as being 30 people normally, but claimed they were told the “wagon” would need to fit 135 people.
*******Obviously, he’s a dancer, not a fighter!!!
*******If you’re a man of fighting age, do you really want people to know you left women and children behind??

The Queen Reunites With Great Grandchildren

Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly reunited with several of her family members after recovering from COVID-19.  She spent Sunday afternoon at her Frogmore Cottage on her Windsor estate with Princess Beatrice and her 5-month-old daughter, Sienna, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, according to the Daily Mail.  Princess Eugenie, her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their 1-year-old son, August, who reside in Frogmore Cottage, were reportedly not home during the Queen’s visit.  She also returned to her royal duties, hosting two virtual meetings with diplomats nine days after testing positive for the virus, the website reported.  This is the first time her grandchildren have seen the 95-year-old monarch since she tested positive for coronavirus in February.  Buckingham Palace announced at the time that she was experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms” but that she would continue with “light duties.”  “She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines,” the palace said in a statement.

The Batman Pulled In Russia

Warner Bros. announced Monday that it would be halting all its theatrical releases in Russia, including “The Batman,” amid Putin’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The move comes as Russia escalated its offensive Tuesday by bombing Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, and dispatching a 40-mile-long convoy of tanks and other equipment to Kyiv.  “In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the release of its feature film ‘The Batman’ in Russia,” the studio said in a statement, per the Hollywood Reporter. “We will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves. “We hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to this tragedy.”  It was slated to premiere in Russia on Tuesday. Other scheduled Warner Bros. releases in the country included “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” (April 14) and the comic book cartoon “DC League of Super-Pets” (May 19).  The decision comes as other Hollywood studios nix their projects from Russia amid the ongoing conflict. Disney started the trend last month after delaying its major releases in the country, most notably the latest Pixar film “Turning Red.”
******If Batman had any balls, he’d go in there and solve this thing!!
*****Of course, Putin immediately pulled his troops, because he’s dying to see the movie!!

Twisted Sister Approves Of Invasion Song

Dee Snider, the lead singer of Twisted Sister, is completely on board with his 1984 hit record “We’re Not Gonna Take It” being used by Ukrainians amid Russia’s invasion — and he said as much in a Twitter post on Saturday.  “I absolutely approve of Ukrainians using “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as their battlecry,” he tweeted.  “My grandfather was Ukrainian, before it was swallowed up by the USSR after WW2. This can’t happen to these people again!” added Snider.  Snider sent out the hashtags “F–KRUSSIA” and “F–KPUTIN” in previous Twitter rants and pressed in a tweet on Sunday that his grandfather would stand by Snider’s remarks if he were alive today.  “My Ukrainian grandpa would have been so proud!” Snider tweeted Sunday and reposted a photo of himself donning a “Russia Sucks” button that he says was taken in the late 1970s.

Guy Finds Big Pearl During Dinner

A New Jersey man dining out with his wife at one of the couple’s favorite restaurants made a surprising discovery inside a raw clam — a large pearl that could be worth thousands of dollars.  Michael and Maria Spressler said they were dining at The Lobster House in Cape May recently when Michael ate the last of his dozen clams on the half shell and felt something hard in his mouth.  “I thought one of my molars cracked,” Michael Spressler told NJ.com.  The couple said they were shocked when Michael spat out the .35-inch pearl.  “He’s eaten dozens and dozens of clams, and we’ve never found anything like that, so it was pretty exciting,” Maria Spressler told KYW-TV.  The Spresslers said they have been eating at The Lobster House for 34 years and never heard of anyone finding a pearl in their clams there.  Sarah Stadnicar, an employee at The Lobster House, confirmed the discovery was extremely rare.  “I have worked here for around 10 years now and I’ve never heard of someone finding one in one of our oysters or clam shells,” Stadnicar said.

Woman’s Bank Account Grows In 60 Years

A Scottish woman who rediscovered a bank account she hadn’t touched in over 60 years was surprised to learn her $3.35 balance had ballooned into $335.  Carol Allison, 74, who grew up in the Philippines, said she was visiting her grandmother in Scotland when she was 6-years-old when the older woman helped her open an account at Trustee Savings Bank, which is now TSB.  Allison said her grandmother kept the bank book from the deposit and it was passed down to her when her grandmother died at the age of 80 in 1969.  Allison, who now lives in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, said she recently rediscovered the bank book, and two others, while cleaning her house.  She took the book to the bank and discovered her account was still active. She said the $3.35 she had invested in the bank more than six decades earlier was now $335.  “I was really pleased and thanked my grandmother, under my breath, when they told me I had £250 [U.S. $335],” Allison told the BBC. “They said it had continued to gain interest all that time.”
********Wow.

Dog Gives Birth To Green Puppy

A Nova Scotia couple whose 3-year-old bulldog gave birth to a litter of eight puppies said they immediately noticed one came out green.  Trevor and Audra Mosher of Middle Sackville said they thought their dog, Freya, was finished after delivering her first seven puppies, but while they were cleaning the canine mother she started to go into labor again.  Freya delivered an eighth puppy, this time encased in a black sac, contrasting with the translucent sacs of its older siblings.  The couple said they initially feared the puppy was stillborn, but they rushed to clean the newborn canine when she started to move.  “We started to dry her off and noticed she was green and immediately again thought there was something wrong. So we googled it, ‘my puppy is green, what’s wrong,’ and apparently it is very rare and it has happened a few times all over the world,” Trevor Mosher told Global News.  The rare discoloration, which has been documented before, is believed to be caused by light-colored puppies coming into contact with the green pigments from bile while in the womb.  “I’m kind of amazed, really. As rare as it seems to be, I feel very lucky to have witnessed it and be a part of it. I know you hear stories about things like that but to be there and witness it, it was good,” Mosher said.  See the pic HERE.

Pizza Vending Machine

A California company unveiled a vending machine that uses robotics to make pizzas in about three minutes.  Piestro, based in El Segundo, unveiled a pizza machine that builds pies to the specifications of customers who select their own crust, sauce, cheese and toppings.  The machine has a large window so customers can watch their pizzas being built before they go into a special oven that cooks the meal in about two minutes. The entire process takes about three minutes, the company said. Piestro said it has no plans to make its own pizzas, but pizza brands are now placing pre-orders for the $100,000 machine to bring their products to more places.  “You can have it at an airport, at your school, at your college, at the bottom of your high-rise building,” Piestro CEO Massimo Noja De Marco told KTLA-TV.  See the video HERE.

6 Signs Your Date Could Be a Tinder Swindler

THE PENNY HOARDER

  1. They Can Never Meet in Person

Though the Tinder Swindler met his alleged victims face to face, one of the hallmarks of a romance scam is that the person has constant excuses for why they can’t meet in person: They’ll claim to be on a military deployment or working on an oil rig. Or they’re constantly traveling for international business. The pandemic has given scammers even more excuses for not actually meeting.

If you’ve been messaging for weeks or months with someone who still claims they’re unable to meet up in person, that’s a big red flag. Consider moving on with the goal of matching with someone who’s free to meet up for coffee or a drink within the next week.

PRO TIP

If your match claims they can’t meet, ask for a virtual date using Zoom or FaceTime. Scammers will often claim tech troubles if you request a video chat.

  1. They Claim to Be Ridiculously Rich

The Tinder Swindler called himself the Prince of Diamonds, claiming he was the son of LLD Diamonds owner Lev Leviev. But anyone can claim to be a wildly successful entrepreneur or heir to a giant fortune. If someone makes an outrageous show of wealth on a dating platform, be very skeptical. Your odds of finding a billionaire on Tinder or Bumble are extraordinarily slim.

  1. Their Pictures Are Generic

Another big warning sign is a single generic-looking photo. It’s easy for scammers to steal someone else’s photos and use them to lure unsuspecting daters. Be wary of any profile where there’s no bio and a single photo, particularly if it looks like a scantily clad model or a photo of someone in uniform, i.e., military fatigues or a doctor’s white coat.

PRO TIP

Use Google’s reverse image search to see if someone’s profile picture appears elsewhere. Scammers often steal stock photos that appear on multiple websites.

  1. They Want to Go Straight to Text or Email

It’s not unusual to exchange phone numbers with someone you’ve met on a dating app or website before meeting in person. Still, be cautious about exchanging phone numbers or email addresses right away. Once someone has your number or email address, it’s easy for them to find out tons of personal information about you.

Consider getting a Google Voice phone number or an app that generates a different phone number. You can also set up an email address that doesn’t reveal your last name for the sole purposes of dating.

  1. They Talk About Your Future Early

Scammers will often say they love you or start planning your future together before you’ve ever met. By convincing the match that there’s an instant connection, it’s easier for the scammer to manipulate their victim. Building a real relationship takes time, but that can be difficult to accept, particularly if you feel lonely.

PRO TIP

According to RomanceScams.org, some of the most common buzzwords scammers use are: destiny, fate, love, marriage and email.

  1. They Ask You for Money

The Tinder Swindler convinced the women he allegedly scammed that his life was in danger as the result of business dealings. He claimed he was being monitored. That’s why he needed the women he was dating to send him cash and let him use their credit cards.

At some point, a scammer is going to hit you up for money. But if someone asks you money when you’ve never met or you only met recently, RUN. Under no circumstances should you send them cash, gift cards or crypto. Don’t wire them money or fork over your credit card information. Also avoid investing based on a tip they gave you.

Romance scammers will have elaborate stories of emergencies. They’ll claim they were suddenly hospitalized or that they’re stranded abroad. Because they’ve forged an intense connection quickly, it’s easy to fall prey.

Don’t buy in, no matter how persuasive they are. Discontinue all communication. Report them to the dating app or social media platform where you initially connected.
