Hamilton Coming To Disney+

Lin-Manuel Miranda announced on Twitter Tuesday that his Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning stage musical Hamilton will be streaming on Disney+ this summer.  “It’s only a matter of time…Our Hamilton film. THIS July 3rd. On Disney+,” Miranda — the show’s star and creator — tweeted.  The post included an image of the blockbuster show’s logo and a banner that said, “Experience the original Broadway production.”  Miranda’s wife Vanessa Nadal posted a photo of him wearing a Hamilton T-shirt and sitting in front of a laptop computer.  “Sneaky photo of @Lin_Manuel excitedly/nervously waiting to drop this news. He woke up like a jolt of energy (more than usual) and could not keep still!” she wrote.  He followed up his original message with: “Never been so happy/nervous in my life. We all watching this together on July 3, yeah? #Hamilfilm.”  Miranda has had a good relationship with Disney in recent years, appearing in its live-action musical Mary Poppins Returns, and writing music and singing in its animated movie Moana.

Lori Loughlin Fighting For Freedom

Lori Loughlin will be entrenched in a fight for freedom come October when she enters a Boston federal courthouse to stand trial for her alleged role in the nationwide college admissions scandal. On Friday, U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton rejected the defense’s bid to toss the indictment over allegations of misconduct by FBI agents prosecuting the case against Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, as well as a number of other parents for their supposed involvement, all but setting the stage for a trial showdown of epic proportions.  Additionally, the judge also denied their attempt to block prosecutors from presenting certain secretly recorded phone calls at trial.  They are scheduled to go on trial in October on charges that they paid $500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits even though neither girl was a rower. They denied paying bribes and said they believed their payments were legitimate donations.  Although an insider recently relayed to Entertainment Tonight that Loughlin was taken aback by the judge’s decision to throw out her motion for dismissal and has since become “nervous” about her prospects of landing in prison, a legal expert believes the mother of Olivia Jade and Isabella Giannulli should “prepare” for a huge showdown that will decide her fate at the hand of a jury.
*******Wait. A federal judge sided with a federal prosecutor?? NO!!!!!
******She should have taken the plea deal while she could!!
*****Felicity Huffman has put it all behind her!!
****Hmmm… and all the TV Lawyers said she was going to get the case dismissed!! They were wrong??? Shock!!

The Kardashians Upset Fans Again

On Saturday, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloé’s older sister, revealed on her Instagram Story that her 10-year-old son, Mason, and Khloé had teepeed her home, according to Page Six.  “I haven’t had this much excitement in months,” Kourtney said in the video. “This is what I come out to? This is what Mason and Koko do when they have a sleepover.”  She added, “It’s actually genius.”  Mom Kris Jenner shared a similar video on her own Instagram Story.  Since then, Khloé has faced backlash for wasting toilet paper during a shortage caused by hoarding during the coronavirus pandemic.  “Stores are limiting 1 pack of toilet paper per customer (when there’s any in stock). Meanwhile Khloe Kardashian is TPing her sister’s mansion,” one Twitter user wrote.  “Khloe Kardashian wasted toilet paper like this last night when everyone can’t find toilet paper,” another wrote. “I guess they don’t know what’s going on in the world.”  A third wrote: “Anyone else find it completely insensitive and utterly ridiculous that Khloe Kardashian TP’d Kourtneys house… during a pandemic….. while there’s a toilet paper shortage Or isn’t just me????”  “Every single Kardashian is srsly [sic] ‘tone deaf,'” another added. “Kourtney just posted video of her yard covered in toilet paper because her son and Khloe TP’d it….at a time when people are desperate for tp during the pandemic… It’s wild how vastly different their reality is from the majority.”
******You don’t understand… they left the TP on the house, and whenever they need to wipe, they just walk outside and rip off a few squares!!
*******This is why the Kardashians aren’t singers!! They’re tone deaf!!
*******Kourtney should have a charity event, where she allows the little people to come and grab some toilet paper off her house!!

Megxit Movie On The Way

Lifetime is working on a made-for-TV movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s real-life “Megxit” controversy.  The film, which currently has the working title “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” would be the third installment in a series of movies about the royal couple following the network’s previously aired “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance” and “Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.”  According to a press release from the network obtained by Fox News, the new film would follow “the couple’s controversial conscious uncoupling from the crown, after the birth of their son Archie.”  “The movie details the struggles of the new parents and unique challenges of being part of the royal family, which ultimately led Harry and Meghan to give up their royal ties to forge a new life on their own terms,” per the release.
QUESTION: Which red-headed actor should play Harry?? The same guy who plays “Archie??”
*****We were thinking Danny Bonaduce, but he’s a little too old!!
******Wait! How about Damian Lewis???
****Obviously, Meghan will be played by Angelina Jolie!!
*****The part of Archie will be tough to cast. You’ll need a baby who can “act royal!!”

Jake Gyllenhaal Sings Quarantine Song

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal posted a video on Friday of him singing a song entitled “Across the Way” as part of a monologue series.  The song was written especially for Gyllenhaal by the composer of the Tony Award-winning musical “Fun Home,” Jeanine Tesori, and playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  He sings lyrics such as ” Day 32, I washed my hands, you made a cornish hen / Day 36 you sewed a mask, I washed my hands again.”  The series, which was launched in mid-March, consists of seven rounds of original songs that were written, produced and recorded within a 24-hour time limit and feature real-life stories of those who have been affected by the virus.  Other notable participants include Sienna Miller, Patrick Wilson and Rita Wilson.  One comment described the song as “a love song in the age of quarantine.” See the video HERE.

Kurt Cobain’s MTV Guitar Up For Auction

The guitar that Kurt Cobain played during his 1993 “MTV Unplugged” performance is expected to sell at auction next month for at least $1 million.  The rare D-18E guitar is listed with a number of other items once owned by the Nirvana frontman, who died by suicide in 1994, approximately five months after the New York show.  “This important guitar has earned its rightful place in Rock ‘N’ Roll history as the instrument played by one of rock’s most influential musicians and icons in one of the greatest and most memorable live performances of all time,” said Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions, in a press release.  The auction house is hosting the sale in Beverly Hills, Hollywood.  The guitar was previously owned by Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain, who reportedly gave it up during an acrimonious divorce from her former husband, musician Isaiah Silva.
*******Here’s a bonus: the guitar “smells like teen spirit!!”

Back To The Future Stars Reunite

Stars of the “Back to the Future” series reunited virtually on Monday — nearly 35 years since the first film hit theaters — to reminisce while raising money for coronavirus relief efforts.  The reunion, hosted by “Frozen” star Josh Gad for his YouTube series “Reunited Apart,” included stars Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson, as well as co-writer Bob Gale and director Robert Zemeckis.  Actresses Mary Steenburgen and Elisabeth Shue, musician Huey Lewis and composer Alan Silvestri also joined the fun.  During the video, the group reminisced about filming the series and reenacted some of the films’ classic scenes. J.J. Abrams also popped into the discussion to test them on their “Back to the Future” trivia knowledge.  Toward the end of the chat, Gad posed a question.  “Bob and Bob have said there’s never gonna be another ‘Back to the Future’ sequel, which I hope is a lie,” he said. “If hypothetically they were, I would love to hear what you would pitch for Marty and Doc to travel back to and why.”  Thompson, who played Marty McFly’s mom, Lorraine, was quick to respond.  “I’d like you to go back to, like, January, where they could warn us about the coronavirus,” she said.
********We’d love to see a “dual sequel,” where Marty and Doc Brown run into Bill and Ted!!
*****Make it a horror show!! They travel to 2050… and Donald Trump’s hologram is still president!!

Rick Springfield Opens Up About Being A Sex Symbol

Rick Springfield says that dealing with women constantly coming on to him when fame hit was “a little bit of a mindf—k.”  In the ’80s, Springfield was riding high with a role as hunky Dr. Noah Drake on “General Hospital” and the success of his hit 1981 album, “Working Class Dog,” which included the chart-topping classic “Jessie’s Girl.”  “One week I’m walking down the street and no one is looking at me, and two weeks later everyone is turning around and going, ‘Hey, isn’t that that guy?’” Springfield recently told Page Six.  He had his fair share of run-ins with groupies, telling us of the sudden interest in him: “I was a young guy … as a turnaround, it’s amazing …  it’s quite shocking.”  But Springfield is mum when it comes to discussing numbers.  “I know there are guys who say they’ve had thousands of women,” he said. “I’m not that guy. That was a part of the journey, I hope I was a nice guy. That numbers thing reeks of, ‘My d–k is bigger than yours.’”
*******We know who he’s talking about: GENE SIMMONS!! And his dick probably IS bigger!!!
******Rick drank a little bit… so he probably couldn’t give you a number if he wanted to!!
*****He was TV star AND a rock star. But was he happy? Yep.

Snake Goes Into ATM

A surprised visitor to a bank in India captured video of a large snake that slithered into an ATM kiosk and ended up climbing into the machine.  The video, recorded at the ICICI Bank ATM kiosk in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, shows the snake exploring the glass ATM enclosure after being locked inside by a bank security guard.  The footage shows the snake climbing up the ATM and slithering into a hole at the top of the machine.  The bank security guard contacted wildlife officials, and the snake was removed and released back into the wild.  Reports varied on whether the snake was a venomous species or a harmless rat snake.  See the video HERE.

No Hot Water Is NOT An Emergency

A British police department is reminding the public not to call the 999 emergency numbers for non-emergency situations after someone called to report their taps weren’t dispensing hot water.  The West Yorkshire Police Contact Management Center said a recent caller to the 999 emergency number, Britain’s equivalent of 911, reported their hot water wasn’t working.  “If you haven’t got any hot water and your heating isn’t working then you’ll need an engineer. Ringing 999 and asking for the police won’t help you,” the center tweeted.  The reminder comes after the Essex Police issued a similar reminder in April, when a 999 caller reported they could hear a neighbor’s loud snoring.  “An unusual 999 call at this time of the day, caller reporting they can hear someone snoring. Advice was given to them and snoring is never a reason to call 999, no matter how annoying it is,” the department’s communications officer tweeted.

Bear Breaks In and Steals Candy and Pills

A group of vacationers captured photos and video when a bear broke into their Tennessee rental cabin and made off with candy, beer, Diet Coke and allergy pills.  Michelle Eberhart said she and a friend noticed some bears outside their Gatlinburg rental cabin Friday morning while their husbands were out golfing. “She just started pointing and I was like, ‘what?’ and so I turned and looked and there’s a bear just putting his full force on the door. And then the door opens,” Eberhart recalled to WATE-TV. Eberhart said the bear forced its way through the locked door, causing the two women to flee into a bedroom.  They said the bear rifled through their cabin while three more bears waited on the porch. Police were summoned to the cabin and were able to chase the bear and its waiting compatriots away from the cabin.  “They got 5 pounds of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and a pound of M&M’s and two pounds of Sour Patch Kids and two bags of potato chips … two beers and two Diet Cokes and about 20 Zyrtecs.” Eberhart said.

Cat With Soup Can Rescued

A pair of police traffic officers in Las Vegas came to the rescue of a cat they spotted with its head stuck in a soup can.  The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department shared helmet-cam footage showing the two motorcycle officers stopping to help the cat.  The video shows the officers catching the cat and carefully pulling the can from its head.  The feline was able to run away without apparent injury once freed from the can.  “We’re trained in a variety of life-saving techniques, but not this one,” the department said. “A pair of LVMPD traffic officers used great care in extracting a cat whose head was firmly stuck inside a soup can. Thanks officers! And best of luck to that cat who rushed away in apparent good health.”  See the video HERE.

A LIST FOR WEDNESDAY

10 things to help you stick to a routine during quarantine

USA Today

  1. Our favorite smart speaker

From waking up the kids to reminding you when it’s time for a work break, smart speakers can do a lot of things—including helping you stick to a routine. Here at Reviewed, we recommend the Amazon Echo because it has great sound quality, tons of helpful features, and far-field voice recognition so you can talk to Alexa from any room in the house.

  1. A coffee maker to make mornings easier

We’re not saying you need coffee to make it through your workday but we’re not, not saying it either. If your daily cup of joe helps you stay focused—and let’s be honest, motivated—don’t give that up just because Starbucks is closed. Brew your own at home with our favorite single-serve coffee maker. The Keurig K-Cafe is not only speedy and efficient, but it also has an attached milk frother for when you’re craving your fancy lattes.

  1. A ClassPass membership for home workouts

Just because spin class is canceled for the foreseeable future doesn’t mean exercise, in general, is canceled. Maintain your weekly workout schedule at home with a ClassPass membership (which is free right now!). You’ll have instant access to thousands of workouts taught by expert instructors—from barre to yoga to boxing—that you can do from the comfort of your own living room.

  1. This alarm clock that mimics the sunrise

Tempting as it may be to sleep until 11 a.m., one of the most important parts of sticking to a routine is sticking to a sleep schedule. And while you don’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn, getting out of bed earlier in the morning can help you get your day started. Rather than a blaring alarm clock, one of our editors is obsessed with this wake-up light from Philips, which mimics the sunrise and wakes you up gently with nature sounds.

  1. These meal prep containers for homemade lunches

No, you don’t need to pack lunch every day now that you’re working from home but it can help you keep up with your healthy eating goals (and avoid eating a box of Cheez-its and a slice of cold pizza and calling it “lunch”). For that, you’ll need some solid meal prep containers, like these ones from Pyrex. Our experts love them because they’re made of durable glass, keep food fresh, and stack neatly in the fridge.

  1. A fitness tracker to keep you active

If your movement for the day simply includes walking from the kitchen to the couch and back again, you might want a fitness tracker to help you get moving (and to prove that no, those hourly refrigerator trips do not add up to 10,000 steps). All of our testers—including our editor who’s tried almost every fitness tracker there is—chose the Fitbit Charge 3 as the best one because it’s super easy to use and navigate and offers tons of activity- and sleep-tracking data. Plus, it’ll buzz every hour to remind you to take 250, which can help you move a little more throughout the day.

  1. A weighted blanket to help you fall asleep

As we mentioned before, sleep is essential for a healthy routine. If you’re someone who struggles to fall—or stay—asleep, you might want to try out a weighted blanket. As an insomniac myself, my own weighted blanket has completely changed my sleep for the better (a.k.a. I can actually sleep!). Of all the ones we’ve tested, we like the Gravity Blanket the best because it’s super soft to the touch and provides just the right amount of pressure that’s comforting without being suffocating.

Get the Gravity Blanket from Gravity for $189

  1. The best Instant Pot on the market

Ordering takeout in quarantine can be a great idea. But ordering takeout every single night in quarantine? Not so much. Get back to your healthy habits of making dinner at home—without tons of extra work—with an Instant Pot. We’ve tested almost every model out there and found the Ultra to be our favorite. Not only does it have 10 different cook settings (from slow cooking to pressure cooking to steaming) but it can have a meal ready in just 20 minutes.

  1. These noise-canceling headphones to keep you focused

It’s easy to get distracted when the dogs are barking, your kids are begging you to come play, and your S.O. is watching Tiger King in the next room. How are you supposed to get any work done let alone actually meet your deadlines and tune in during your daily meetings?! Enter these noise-canceling headphones. They’re the best ones we’ve ever tested thanks to their comfortable fit (you can wear them for hours!) and their effectiveness at drowning out distractions (you can even customize the amount of noise-canceling to choose how much of the outside world you can/can’t hear).

  1. A planner to keep track of everything you have to do

Wake up at 6 a.m. Conference call at 8 a.m. Tune into barre class at 10:30 a.m. Part of having a solid routine is planning out your day—which is where a planner comes in handy. We like the Panda Daily Planner because it has plenty of space to write out your daily activities and to-do lists along with separate pages for planning and tracking longer-term goals.
