New Teaser For The Crown
Netflix is giving a glimpse of The Crown Season 4. They shared a trailer for the season Tuesday featuring Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles and Emma Corrin as the future Princess Diana. The preview centers on the romance between Charles and Diana, who married in July 1981. While the teaser shows happy and sweet moments between the couple, it also hints at the end to come. “Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made — a prince and princess on their wedding day. But fairy tales usually end at this point, with the simple phrase, ‘They lived happily ever after,'” a narrator says in a voiceover. “As husband and wife live out their vows, loving and cherishing one another — sharing life’s splendors and miseries, achievements and setbacks — they will be transformed in the process. Our faith sees the wedding day not as the place of arrival, but the place where the adventure really begins.” The Crown follows the reign of British monarch Queen Elizabeth II throughout the decades. Season 4 co-stars Olivia Colman as Elizabeth, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret and Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher. Kanye West released his first presidential campaign ad on Monday, calling on Americans to write him in on their ballots this November. “We as a people will revive our nation’s commitment to faith, to what our Constitution calls the free exercise of religion, including, of course, prayer,” West said in the ad, which echoed messaging he’s promoted in recent months. “Through prayer, faith can be restored. We as a people are called to a greater purpose than ourselves. We are not only a beacon to the world, but we should be servants to each other, to encourage each other, to help each other, to lift up each other — our fellow Americans, that we may all prosper together.” “Friends writing me in,” West tweeted, alongside a purported ballot with a list of presidential and vice presidential candidates. AMC Theaters Running Out Of Cash
AMC Theaters said that its “existing cash resources would be largely depleted by the end of 2020 or early 2021,” if current trends continue. Once it runs out of cash, movie house will “require additional sources of liquidity or increases in attendance levels” to meet its financial obligations, it revealed in the ominous public filing. “The required amounts of additional liquidity are expected to be material,” the company added. Since mid-March, the pandemic has squeezed the theater industry. After months of forced closures due to the pandemic, AMC and its rivals reopened their doors again this summer. But business has been slow as Hollywood studios keep shelving their blockbusters to a later date. With no big budget films to draw consumers in and many mid-sized movies heading to streaming services, Cineworld, which operates Regal, the country’s second largest movie theater, recently called it quits again and closed all its US, UK and Irish theaters.

Sources close to the ex-couple say that their split was “amicable,” while an insider for Us Weekly further claimed that their relationship ended about six weeks ago, as the two had lost the spark in their relationship. Jonah popped the question to Santos back in September 2019, not long after purchasing a stunning $6.77 million four-bedroom colonial-style home in Santa Monica, Calif., where the former couple was said to have spent most of their time together. Santos, who is a celebrity stylist and content manager for beauty retailer Violet Grey, kept her relationship with Hill very much under the radar throughout the two years that they were together, having first been photographed with the Oscar-nominated actor back in August 2018 while taking a stroll through New York City. Slip N Slide Record
An Idaho college student may have set a Guinness World Record when he traversed 100 meters of slip ‘n slide in 10.4 seconds. Jeff Roper, a mechanical engineering major at Brigham Young University-Idaho, used dirt trenches, painter’s tarps and a garden hose to create the long slip ‘n slide course near his grandparents’ home south of Ammon. Witnesses including Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on hand to watch as Roper reached a top speed of 32 mph while sliding across the tarps. Roper traversed 100 meters — 328 feet — in 10.4 seconds. The student said he submitted evidence from the attempt to Guinness World Records and expects to hear by late January whether his feat was accepted. See the video HERE.

Loose Beaver
A New Mexico zoo is asking the public to keep watch for a beaver that escaped from the facility after only recently being transferred from another zoo. The Spring River Zoo in Roswell said Busy, one of a pair of 2-year-old beavers who recently arrived from the Pittsburgh Zoo, was discovered missing from his enclosure Sunday. Zookeepers said Busy is believed to have tunneled under multiple fences to make his way out of the zoo. The Roswell Police Department, the city’s Animal Services Department and the New Mexico Game and Fish Department have been notified of the escape, officials said. “If anyone sees a beaver in the city or surrounding area, it could possibly be the zoo’s animal. While the beaver is relatively tame, he does not like to be picked up and should not be chased,” the zoo said. The zoo is asking anyone who spots the beaver to contact the facility rather than attempt to capture it themselves.

Woman Returns Stolen Artifacts Over Curse
A Canadian woman who took pieces from the ancient Italian city of Pompeii 15 years ago returned the fragments with a letter explaining how they brought a “curse” to her life. The woman, who signed the letter with the name Nicole, said she visited the Archaeological Park of Pompeii when she was “young and dumb” about 15 years ago. She said she took items from the site, where hot rock, volcanic ash and noxious gas had buried the ancient city and its residents when Mount Vesuvius erupted in the year 79. Nicole’s letter — which accompanied a package containing two mosaic tiles, parts of an amphora and a piece of ceramics — said she had experienced a string of bad luck since the theft that included two bouts with breast cancer. “Please, take them back, they bring bad luck,” she wrote. The woman said the package contained everything she took from Pompeii, except for a tile she had given away to a friend.

Runner Has Scary Encounter With Cougar
A hiker survived a terrifying encounter with a mountain lion in Utah after the animal chased and charged at him on Saturday. Kyle Burgess, 26, recorded the six-minute incident in Slate Canyon with the cougar, who was with her cubs. “You see the two cubs and one kind of runs off, but then I didn’t notice mom was right there and that’s when I knew it was not a good situation to be in,” he told CBS News. During the expletive-filled clip, Burgess made loud noises, roared and walked away slowly as the big cat followed him, but stayed at a distance. “Go away!” he said. “Please, go away. I’m big and scary.” At one point, the mountain lion hissed and charged with her claws out at Burgess. “Dude, I don’t feel like dying today,” Burgess said. “Go with your babies.” After several tense minutes, Burgess threw a rock and scared the cat away. “It was just like it’s over,” he told CBS News. “Those six minutes were so long for me.”

Who is eligible for Prime Day deals?
As mentioned above, Prime Day deals are only available for Prime members.
Amazon Prime costs $119 per year, although consumers can sign up for a monthly charge of $12.99 per month. Amazon also offers a one-month free trial of Prime, which consumers can cancel at any time. After the initial month, their credit card will be charged the membership fee.
What’s different about Prime Day in 2020?
Amazon says it’s designed a new program to support small businesses, which have been particularly hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
Of course, Amazon has earned both kudos and criticism over the years for its impact on small businesses. While some small businesses rely on Amazon to sell their goods, others have accused the retail giant of creating competing products that undercut them on price.
Amazon will offer Prime members a $10 credit when they spend $10 on products sold by some small businesses on Amazon. That offer is available now through October 12. And when Prime Day officially begins on October 13, Amazon will allow Prime members to use that $10 credit on any product, including from small businesses.
How will discounts compare with previous years?
We won’t know for sure until October 13, but experts say they believe this year’s deals will be similar to those in previous years. Expect average discounts of about 20%, said Nathan Burrow, deals expert for the Wirecutter.
Some deals might be advertised at 70% or 80% off, but it’s best to do some research to make sure the deal is as good as advertised. One way to do this is visiting CamelCamelCamel, where you can plug in the URL for an Amazon product and see its price history — including its lowest and highest prices.
What are the best Amazon Prime Day deals?
Typically, the best deals during Amazon Prime Day are on Amazon’s own products, Cook said.
For instance, Amazon is offering early deals ahead of Prime Day on some of its devices and services, such as $50 off a one-year subscription to Audible, its audiobook streaming service. Expect to see Amazon-branded products on sale as well, Cook added, such as Amazon Essentials clothing.
She noted, “Increasingly, they have their own brands in every department you can imagine.”
What are some tips for getting the best deals?
Amazon Prime Day can be overwhelming, given the amount of items that are discounted. But experts say there are some strategies for making the most of the event.
- Look for Amazon Prime Day deal badges, which are in blue and say “Prime Day Deal.”
- Use the Amazon mobile app and tap “Watch This Deal” to receive real-time alerts when items go on sale.
- Create a wish list. Amazon will alert you if one of your wish list items goes on sale.
- Remember that “Lightning Deals” go fast. RetailMeNot says you only have about 15 minutes to buy a Lightning Deal product once you put it in your cart.
- Compare with other retailers. Don’t forget that other stores might offer the same product for less.
