New Mandalorian Preview Released

Pedro Pascal’s bounty hunter is trying to reunite The Child with its own kind in the first trailer for Season 2 of The Mandalorian.  The Mandalorian travels across the galaxy with The Child — also referred to a Baby Yoda by fans — in search of the infant’s home. The Mandalorian spent the first season fighting to protect The Child from the last remnants of the fallen Galactic Empire.  The bounty hunter runs into a pair of X-Wing pilots and gets into a fight while attending an alien wrestling match.  “Wherever I go, he goes,” The Mandalorian says in regards to The Child.  The Mandalorian Season 2 will premiere Oct. 30 on Disney+. Tyra Banks Gets Heat On Hosting Gig

Tyra Banks took the stage as the host of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” for the first time Monday night and fans were less than thrilled with her performance.  In July, the network announced that the former “America’s Next Top Model” host would be brought in for Season 29 of the hit reality dancing competition to replace suddenly ousted hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.  Fans were stunned when Bergeron suddenly announced on Twitter that he would not be back. He hosted the show since its debut in 2005. Andrews, who was brought on as co-host in 2014, followed soon after as it came to light that the network had decided to move the show in a new direction.  “ABC opted not to pick up Tom’s option. In the fine tradition of Hollywood cliches, they’re ‘Going in a different direction,’” a statement from Bergeron’s reps provided to Fox News read at the time.  “Can Tyra Banks be the first person voted off, thanks! #dwts,” one user wrote.  “Tyra banks has ruined dancing with the stars she tries to be funny but keeps falling flat…#bringtomback #DancingWiththeStars,” another user posted.  “Reminder that #DWTS firing Tom & Erin was ridiculous and unnecessary, Tyra Banks is literally the worst host that’s ever existed, and Carol Baskin killed her husband. Paul Rudd Encourages Millennials To Mask Up

Paul Rudd conducted a comedic skit aimed at millennials in order to get them to wear masks amid the coronavirus pandemic.  The PSA, sponsored by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, used pop culture references and lingo aimed at a younger audience to get the point across.  Rudd wore a hoodie and sweatpants and accessorized with a pair of headphones around his neck and a hat tipped to the side. He also carried a skateboard.  He introduced himself as an “actor and certified young person.”  “Fam, let’s real talk. Masks, they’re totally beast,” Rudd began.  He then revealed he was on an iPhone recently chatting with his “homie” Gov. Cuomo. “And he’s just going off about how us millennials need to wear masks because — get this — apparently a lot of COVID is transmitted by us millennials,” the actor said.  “So Cuomz asked me and he’s like, ‘Paul, you gotta help. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt recently participated in a special event and photos of their reunion surfaced on Monday.  They were involved in a virtual table read for the 1982 teen drama “Fast Times At Ridgemont High,” scheduled to stream on Thursday.  Comedian Dane Cook, who also participated, shared a photo of the attendees on Instagram. This is the first time Aniston, 50, and Pitt, 56, have been spotted publicly interacting since their reunion at the Screen Actors Guild Award that went viral in January.  In Cook’s photo of the call, Aniston is dressed casually as she cups her hands and smiles for the camera. Pitt is also smiling wide and is showing off long blonde locks while wearing a bright green shirt.  They were married from 2000 to 2005. They have since reconciled a friendship following his divorce with Angelina Jolie.  The project is set to air at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Thursday. Tiger On The Run

A 911 recording has captured an off-duty deputy reporting a tiger on the loose in East Knox County, Tenn., but several agencies haven’t been able to find it.  Sheriff’s patrol units, Animal Control, Air Watch, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Tiger Haven, a big cat rescue in Roane County, have joined forces to locate and apprehend the tiger, a sheriff’s office statement said.  Knox County sheriff’s Deputy Andy Wilson spotted the tiger Wednesday night in the Forks of the River Industrial Park, which he said rose out of the French Broad River, crossed the road and disappeared into a mass of kudzu.  Knoxville police dispatch said there was another reported sighting of the tiger around 7 a.m. Thursday near Thorngrove Pike in Knoxille and multiple calls overnight of possible sightings around John Sevier Highway near Thorngrove Pike and on Bales Lane.  “I’m out with a tiger cub,” Wilson said while calling into dispatch about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to report seeing the animal.  The Knox County Sheriff’s Office announced the spotting in a Facebook post, which had link attached for more information on its website, urging anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office.

88 Year Old Walks Circumference Of The Earth

An 88-year-old Massachusetts man has walked 24,900 miles, and plans to finish the final mile Oct. 3 to total the circumference of the Earth.  Brad Hathaway said his doctor encouraged him to start walking in his mid-50s when he was dealing with diabetes, heart problems and other health issues.  “My doctor said, ‘You better walk, you better start walking tomorrow and start walking 3 miles a day,” Hathaway said. “So, I did, and I mapped out the entire town.”  Since then, Hathaway began to walk daily, rain or shine, and would sometimes walk 10 miles instead of 3. Hathaway said he’s picked up some trash and some treasures along the way. He said that he has made about $7,000 from discarded items he collected on his walks, and he’s also made some friends.  He’s been logging the miles he has covered over the years and recently decided to calculate the total. “I’m 1 mile to 24,901 and that’s around the Earth at the equator,” Hathaway said.  Hathaway said that he hopes to raise the funds through his GoFundMe page.  “All proceeds from Brad’s fundraising walk will be used for land acquisitions in the Aucoot area to increase the 480 acres of conservation land MLT holds there presently,” the GoFundMe page states.  See the page HERE.

Abraham Lincoln’s Hair Sells

A lock of hair from President Abraham Lincoln’s postmortem examination, along with a blood-stained telegram delivered shortly after his 1865 assassination, sold for more than $81,000.  His lock of hair, about 2 inches long and mounted to the official telegram, sold at auction Saturday, according to a statement from RR Auction of Boston.  The lock of hair ended up in the custody of Dr. Lyman Beecher Todd, a cousin of Lincoln’s widow, Mary Todd Lincoln. Todd was present at the postmortem examination and is believed to have wrapped the hair clipping in the telegram, which his assistant, George Kinnear, sent to him the previous day.  “The above telegram … arrived in Washington a few minutes after Abraham Lincoln was shot,” a typed caption prepared by Dr. Lyman Beecher Todd’s son, James A. Todd, reads.  The items sold for $81,250, which was more than the $75,000 the auction house expected to fetch since they went up for auction online late last month.

“Etsy really caters to the handmade,” she says. “They understand [handmade] better than Amazon… [which] is very strict with all the rules.”

 

8. Delivering Groceries

Some people hate going to the supermarket, which is why grocery delivery services are on the rise. Instacart and Shipt employ gig workers who go shopping, pick out requested items and deliver them to customers’ homes.

Shipt shoppers are paid per order — the price is higher for bigger orders — and they also receive tips. Destiny Firth, a Shipt shopper in Nashville, told The Penny Hoarder in 2017 she makes $17.50 an hour.

 

9. Creating Online Courses

If you’re a master of a topic and wish to make some passive income, then consider creating an online course. Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs, provided by companies like Udemy allow teachers and professionals to instruct students wanting to broaden their skills.

Instructors create the courses, which consist of audio, video, a PowerPoint-style presentation, practice assignments and exams, then charge a fee to enroll. The longer the course, the higher the pay.

According to Udemy, the site keeps 50% of the cost if the student finds the class on their platform, but the instructor keeps 97% of the course cost when the student signs up using an instructor coupon.

 

10. Selling T-Shirts Online

If you’ve got ideas for catchy slogans or eye-catching graphics, why not put them on a T-shirt? Print-on-demand services such as Merch by Amazon, Printful and Redbubble allow people to upload their designs and sell products without dealing with the hassles of inventory and shipping. Each shirt is made to order, and the designer receives a percentage of the sale.
